The chemical composition of mineral Campigliaite is inidcated by the formula Cu4Mn(SO4)2(OH)6•4(H2O). Mineral Campigliaite is known as a secondary mineral in the oxidized zone of a metallic sulfide skarn deposit. This mineral is usually found from its type of locality at Temperino mine, Campiglia Marittima, Tuscany, Italy. Mineral Campigliaite was named for the locality. Mineral Campigliaite is known to crystallize in the monoclinic system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, the monoclinic system of crystal formation comprises crystals having three axes of unequal lengths. Two of which are usually found in a position that is oblique or not perpendicular to one another. However, both of which are commonly found perpendicular to the third axis. Campigliaite is usually found with perfect cleavage in one direction. Mineral Campigliaite is commonly found showing light blue or pink color in hand sample. The density measure of mineral Campigliaite is usually found 3 grams per cubic centimeters. Most crystals os mineral Campigliaite are found transparent in appearance. Mineral Campigliaite is also usually found showing vitreous or glassy luster when evaluated in reflected light of polarizing microscopes used in the field of optical mineralogy. Campigliaite is most commonly found leaving a blue white streak when rubbed on white porcelain streak plate. Mineral Campigliaite is usually found showing biaxial negative figure when evaluated between crossed nicols of polarizing microscopes. Campigliaite is also showing 0.0700 birefringence. Campigliaite is found to be not radioactive.
