The chemical composition of mineral Jarosewichite is indicated by the formula Mn2+3Mn3+(AsO4)(OH)6. Mineral Jarosewichite is usually found occurring at metamorphosed Zn-Mn deposit. Jarosewichite is also found at its type of locality at Franklin, Sussex County, New Jersey, USA. Mineral Jarosewichite was named for Eugene Jaroswich (1926-), chief chemist, Department of Mineral Sciences, National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution. Jarosewichite is also found dark red in hand sample. This mineral is known to be not radioactive.
