The chemical composition of mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is indicated by the formula Bi2Fe3+1.2Co0.6Ni0.2O1.1(OH)2.9(AsO4)2. This mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is usually found at small vugs in coarse quartz crystals. Cobaltneustadtelite is considered as Co analogue of neust├Ądtelite and medenbachite. This mineral is commonly found at its type of locality at mine dumps in the Schneeberg-Neust├Ądtel area, Saxony, Germany. Cobaltneustadtelite was named after the locality and chemical composition. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is known to crystallize in the triclinic system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, this triclinic crystal system commonly comprises crystals having three axes, of which all are unequal in length and are positioned oblique to one another. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is commonly found showing good cleavage in hand sample. Cobaltneustadtelite is commonly found colored brown in hand sample. Most crystals are found transparent to translucent in appearance. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is usually found brittle to conchoidal in fracture. This is commonly showing very brittle fracture producing small, conchoidal fragments. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is also found tabular in form showing dimensions that are thin in one direction. The hardness measure of mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is usually found 4.5 when evaluated using the Mohs scale method. This miinral is also commonly showing adamantine luster when viewed in reflected light of polarizing microscopes. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is also found leaving a light brown streak when rubbed on white porcelain streak plate. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is also found showing biaxial negative figure with 0.1000 birefringence. Mineral Cobaltneustadtelite is also found not radioactive.
