The chemical formula of mineral Chvaleticeite is indicated by (Mn++,Mg)SO4•6(H2O). This mineral Chvaleticeite is usually found in the oxidation zone of a pyrite-manganese silicate deposit. Mineral Chvaleticeite is commonly found at its type of locality at Chvaletice and Jachymov (Joachimsthal), Czech Republic. This mineral was actually named for the locality. Mineral Chvaleticeite is known to crystallize in the monoclinic system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, the monoclinic system of crystal formation comprises crystals having three axes of unequal lengths. Two of which are usually found in a position that is oblique or not perpendicular to one another. However, both of which are commonly found perpendicular to the third axis. Mineral Chvaleticeite is usually found colored yellow green, white, or pink in hand sample. The density measure of mineral Chvaleticeite is usually found 1.84 grams per cubic centimeters. Most crystals of mineral Chvaleticeite are found translucent in appearance. Mineral Chvaleticeite is found exhibiting efflorescence where crystals covering matrix, generally produced from transpiro-evaporation. The hardness measure of mineral Chvaleticeite is usually found 1.5 when measured using the Mohs scale method. Mineral Chvaleticeite is commonly found exhibiting vitreous to glassy luster in reflected light of polarizing microscopes. Mineral Chvaleticeite is also commonly found leaving a white streak when rubbed on white porcelain streak plate. Mineral Chvaleticeite is commonly found showing biaxial figure with 0.0490 birefringence when evaluated between crossed nicols of polarizing microscopes for mineralogists. Mineral Chvaleticeite is found to be not radioactive.
