The chemical composition of mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) is indicated by the formula CaNd(CO3)2(OH)•(H2O). This mineral is most commonly found at miarolitic cavity in granite. Mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) is most commonly found at its locality at Baveno, Piedmont, Italy. Mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) was named for the composition and from the Greek “curved,” in allusion to the rounded and distorted character of the crystals. Mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) is known to crystallize in the monoclinic system of crystal formation. In optical mineralogy, the monoclinic system of crystal formation comprises crystals having three axes of unequal lengths. Two of which are usually found in a position that is oblique or not perpendicular to one another. However, both of which are commonly found perpendicular to the third axis.

Mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) is most commonly found colored pink in hand sample. Most crystals of mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) are found transparent in appearance. Calcioancylite-(Nd) is usually found showing a vitreous or glassy luster when viewed in reflected light of polarizing microscope used in the field of optical mineralogy. The hardness measure of mineral Calcioancylite-(Nd) when it is evaluated using the Mohs scale method is usually found ranging from 4 to 4.5. Calcioancylite-(Nd) is usually found showing biaxial negative figure when viewed closely between crossed nicols of polarizing microscope used in optical mineralogy. Calcioancylite-(Nd) is also most commonly found showing 0.1010 birefringence. Calcioancylite-(Nd) is a radioactive mineral as evaluated.
